Paperboard packaging
Paperboard packaging is inherently sustainable and fully recyclable. Most of the paper and paperboard used in our products is either recycled or made from responsibly forested pulp products.
Paper is also an excellent replacement for environmentally polluting plastic packaging. Below are some examples of sustainability initiatives undertaken by us with paperboard packaging.
Replacement of plastic in food packaging
We are working on replacement of non-sustainable materials like plastic food trays with biodegradable and environmentally friendly alternatives.
Metallised Board
We have developed in-house facility to transfer metallised effects on paperboard, giving the same quality and finish as metallised plastic film widely used in the industry.

Replacement of plastic film lamination and plastic extrusion for food and other barrier packaging
We are also working on alternative water-based coatings to replace plastic film lamination or plastic extrusion coating, for example plastic-lined cups and food packaging, with sustainable solutions.

Sustainability in flexible packaging
TCPL has set-up a division TCPL Innofilms, to manufacture blown polyethylene (PE) films.
TCPL has invested in a 5 layer blown film line from Reifenhauser which comes equipped with an MDO unit in-line
This plant is one of a kind and we will be amongst the very few companies in India to be equipped with such capability
Such specially oriented PE films, once laminated with another layer of sealant PE film, will result in a mono-polymer packaging product
The unique technology being employed by TCPL lnnofilms offers specially oriented PE films to replace typically stiffer films like Polyester (PET) or BOPP (bi-auxilary oriented polypropylene)
This development will help in replacing current multi-polymer, non-recyclable products prevalent in the market

InnoPure
MDO PE film for printing, both sides treated
InnoPureHB
MDO PE film for printing, both sides treated, with EVOH for high barrier to oxygen and moisture
InnoMet
Metallized PE film with medium barrier to oxygen and moisture & sealant property
InnoPureHB Metallized
InnoPureHB Metallized – High barrier MDO PE film with EVOH for sandwich lamination, both sides treated
Sustainable Manufacturing Practices
Besides the sustainable nature of its products, TCPL is also investing in making manufacturing processes more sustainable and environment friendly.
The Company has invested in roof top solar at its Silvassa, Goa and Guwahati locations. Own production of solar power can potentially account for upto 20% of the total energy consumption of these plants. TCPL has decided to additionally invest in more such capacities at its other locations in the near future.
All food waste at TCPL’s factories are
100% composted.
All of TCPL’s factories are zero discharge, with 100% effluent treatment.
All air conditioning facilities in the manufacturing area are imported from leading multinational providers for lower energy utilisation.
